I am not saying that Duryodhana should have gone ahead and consummated the relationship, just that the scene is one of the props to show Duryodhana is a nice guy, tbe actually, there are enough other scenes where it emerges quite naturally.

When the story is the grandest story of them all, The Mahabharata, the enormity of ajaay achievement gets significantly multiplied. That takes away from what the book could have been.
